Writing has always been central to my work.
Writing is the purest expression of my voice and thinking. I seek to make the writing reflective, substantive and grounded in the philosophy of jen leadership and flourishing that is the foundation of all my work.
Some people think I am really smart. I am not. I have three siblings, they are all smarter than me. But here is the thing: for the past 40 years I have kept a journal to capture what I have learned from others and to capture new ideas, perspectives I have formed through life. Nobody I know is more diligent than I am in retaining what I have learned and in exploring new concepts and ideas.
I find joy in sharing my learning and perspective through writing. Here you will find the quarterly newsletters I have written for several years as well as writing on topics as far reaching as defining leadership, building successful relationships, how our brain works as we age, understanding emotions, how to successfully interview for a job, etc.
It is through writing that ideas become clearer, questions deepen, and perspective sharpens. The reflections shared here explore what it means to live and lead in a way that enables flourishing, both personally and organizationally.
Some pieces are timeless. Others respond to seasons of life, leadership, and transition. All are offered in the spirit of reflection rather than reaction.
